With over two decades of experience across global markets, Mangirish Salelkar a.k.a. MS is a first-generation entrepreneur from Margao who co-founded UMANG Group, a 100% bootstrapped, home-grown venture that has steadily built a strong reputation both in India and internationally, along with his business and life partner, Uma Salelkar.
At the core of Mangirish’s journey is a deep passion for creating meaningful impact—by building sustainable businesses, strong communities, and new opportunities. His contributions have been widely recognised through several prestigious honours, including the Times Entrepreneur Award, Business Goa’s Leadership in Technology Award, Incredible Goa’s Excellence in Tech Leadership, and the Young Manager Award by the Goa Management Association.
In 2017, driven by the need for a unified voice for the IT sector in Goa, Mangirish, along with like-minded technology entrepreneurs, founded the Goa Technology Association (GTA). Today, GTA stands as the premier association representing IT companies and startups in the state, with Mangirish currently serving as its President for the third time.
He also serves as Co-Chair of ASSOCHAM, Goa Council, a national trade body actively involved in policy advocacy and sectoral development. Recently appointed as a Director at the Economic Development Corporation (EDC), he contributes to broader discussions around economic growth and industrial development in Goa. Additionally, he extends his expertise in advisory roles to several business bodies and government organisations, including STPI (MeitY, Government of India), the Goa Investment Promotion Board, TEDx, NASSCOM, and the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
With a background in Computer Engineering and executive certifications in Strategic Management and Business Law from the London School of Business Administration, Mangirish brings together strong technical insight and strategic leadership. Known for his approachable and inclusive style, he actively engages with entrepreneurs, professionals, students, policymakers, and academic institutions, continuing his efforts to strengthen and elevate Goa’s technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
